Dragon Ball Z
I have a sweet, talented great nephew named Zane. He is 8, and on his way into life as a great artist. The kid has a natural ability to do cartoon art like nobody's business. A few months ago his art teacher at school entered him into a city wide art contest and guess who won art lessons at a local art school? Yeah....you guessed it....Zane.
If you can't tell by now, I am very proud of that boy and while he has an eternal place deep in the recesses of my heart, he also know how to pull at my heart strings. Translation: Zane knows how to get what he wants out of me.
About a week and a half ago I get this phone call from Zane asking me to sew him a Dragon Ball Z costume since I have a sewing machine. He punched all the right buttons and so I go look up the costumes on line. First to see what the heck the costume looked like and secondly to find one on line to buy for the kid. Holey Moley! Those costumes cost a fortune. So I decided to sew him one up.
After quite a bit of looking and searching I finally found a pattern that I can convert into a costume pattern. Then I found the right color of fabric for the main part of the costume. I still have some coordinating fabric I need to buy and a costume is on it's way! I'm hoping to start on the costume this afternoon.. Hopefully it won't take me a month of Sunday's to get it finished!

I love the new hardwood floor! No, it is not laminate. It is real hardwood, white oak. It is called rustic oak. I love it! It is so rich and warm. I really like all the character of the wood. We also painted the walls, I don't know if you can really see the color or not on the wall but it is a very cool, light pastel green. Almost white. Our bedroom is a very similar color.

We have been doing some remodeling lately on our house. Nothing major, meaning no structural changes. We've put down new three quarter inch oak hardwood floors in part of the house, painting, new baseboard, etc. I'm a really excited to get that nasty, ratty carpet out of the living room! It had already seen it's prime, had died and should of been buried years ago. Now it is gone, gone, gone ! And to think I can remember when we had the carpet installed and I was so excited about it. But that was long ago... Our walls in the living area and the kitchen were way past due for a new paint job. The antique what was no longer white and there were some signature pencil drawings made by a certain little boy, well two little boys actually. Anyway, I was tired of no color in the room so we painted it a soft green. the walls look great! I am so happy about how the paint color turned out.
We are almost finished with the remodeling and so we have began to put the furniture back. I've decided to redecorate as I go along. I'm not buying anything new just putting some stuff out that was out of sight or in a different place or room of the house before we starting the remodel. This is work, but also fun.
Sorry I didn't think to take any before pictures, but I will take some after pictures and show them to you. anyway. I don't know why I didn't think to take before and after photo shots. Just didn't.
